Roach Cares Foundation is working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility. We want people who are blind, visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing, and people using keyboards or other assistive technologies, to be able to use our website.
Our design priorities
- Clear heading structure and logical reading order.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and form controls with visible focus.
- Readable text, sufficient colour contrast and layouts that reflow on small screens.
- Automatic light/dark colour-scheme support, with additional support for forced-colour and high-contrast modes.
- Meaning is not communicated by colour alone; labels, structure and text remain available when colours are filtered or altered.
- Useful descriptions for meaningful images and empty alt text for decorative images.
- Understandable forms with visible labels, clear errors and status messages.
- No autoplay audio, flashing content or motion that ignores reduced-motion preferences.
- Appropriate captions, transcripts and descriptions for future media.
Testing status
The current release has been reviewed for keyboard-accessible structure, visible focus, responsive reflow, 200% text enlargement readiness, light and dark colour schemes, forced-colour/high-contrast support, colour-independent meaning and representative mobile/desktop layouts. Display-level colour filters such as Night Light have also been considered in the contrast design. This statement is not a claim of independently audited WCAG conformance; we will continue testing with assistive technologies and welcome practical accessibility feedback.
